We started walking from the middle car park at Puttenham Common and slowly made our way up to the top car park via the General’s Pond. We crossed the road and made our way down to Gatwick, where we had a short stretch of road walking before turning into the woods and towards Cut Mill Pond.

The sky was rather overcast and rain was forecast but it held off until we returned to the car park. Despite the amount of recent rain, the route was not too muddy.

There were lots of interesting fungi to look at on the way and this is a lovely walk for wildflowers in the spring.
