A friend suggested Britty Wood as a good place to walk. This is an area I used to walk with my dog many years ago but I wasn’t sure how I could make it long enough for a worthwhile amble.

There are many paths criss-crossing Britty Wood and it took several false starts before I found a route that would work.  This is the route as recorded during the January 2020 Amble. The route starts at Puttenham Common Lower Car Park, next to the Tarn and crosses the road onto Lower Puttenham Common before turning into Britty Wood.

This is a lovely area and the paths are generally dry even after a lot of rain.
